Some banks, such as Starling or Monzo, include what they refer to as 'Savings Spaces' or 'Pots' as part of their current accounts. These pots/spaces are areas within the current account that allow you to set money aside, without actually transferring it to another account.
Its savings account has no monthly maintenance fees or minimum opening deposit, and you can create “buckets” to save for different purposes, like an emergency fund, new car or house down payment.
The Ally Savings Account includes the option to open multiple buckets within one account for different savings goals. You can also open checking accounts, retirement accounts, investment accounts, CDs, credit cards, and loans all at one bank.
Savings buckets
Available with our Savings Account, you can create up to 30 buckets for savings goals like vacations and emergencies.
How savings buckets work. You can create up to 30 savings buckets within one account, each dedicated to a different goal, like an emergency fund, a vacation or higher education. You can name each savings bucket and decide how much of your income you want to allocate to each one.
You don't need multiple bank accounts and spreadsheets to manage your spending—we created spending buckets to help you reserve money within your Spending Account for anything you have coming up.
When you've linked your accounts, you can pay into any pot (except your pension) straight from the Chase app. You can pay in as little as you like, right up to £25,000 a day. To pay into a Nutmeg pot, you'll need to set up Nutmeg as a payee (if you haven't already).
How many savings POTS should I have?
I always recommend that they have three pots of money in their financial plan. As a minimum, you should always have 6 to 9 months' worth of essential monthly expenditure as “Emergency Cash”.

When closing a bank account, a common question people ask is whether it will negatively impact their credit scores. Fortunately, closing a savings or checking account that's in good standing won't hurt your credit in any way.
You designate what each bucket is for and what percentage of your paycheck or other income you want to allocate to different categories (up to 30 buckets). Either manually move funds to your savings buckets with the distribute tool or set up automatic contributions.

The more accounts you have, the harder it can be to keep track of their details and requirements. Unless you keep careful and updated records, it might be challenging to keep track of usernames, passwords and details such as beneficiaries and scheduled transfers or withdrawals.
